8 small granny smith apples

300 g granulated sugar

75 g unsalted butter

150 g golden syrup

100 ml water

0.5 tsp vinegar

RECIPE STEPS
1Wash the apples thoroughly to remove any wax coating. Dry them completely and insert a wooden stick or skewer into the top of each apple.

2In the metal bowl of your Cook Expert, add the sugar, butter, golden syrup, vinegar and water. Run EXPERT 10:00/speed 3/100°C.

  • 150 g golden syrup
  • 100 ml water
  • 0.5 tsp vinegar

3After 10 minutes, Run EXPERT 20:00/speed 3/140°C. It will turn a rich golden brown.

4If you want to add food colouring, do so in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
5Once the toffee is ready, carefully dip each apple into the mixture, tilting the pan to coat the apple evenly.

6Allow any excess toffee to drip off before placing the apple on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
7Let the toffee apples cool and harden completely before serving.
